Attendance 101: Punctuality
In short, punctuality means arriving on time.
Punctuality is something employers look for, as it is a sign of reliability. In school time, punctuality ensures that students will arrive to class on time and so will not miss any part of the lesson.
If students are late to school, they need to sign in at the Student Liaison Office and obtain a late note before going to class. A parent or guardian should ring the school or provide a note to explain why the student is late.
If students are late to a class, after having been at school, the classroom teacher may impose a consequence for missing class time, especially if it becomes a pattern. Consequences include making a note of the behaviour, which might affect good standing or keeping the student in for detention to make up lost time.
