2023 GSSSSA, Year 7-10 Basketball Carnival

In Term 4 Week 4, ASHS displayed remarkable sportsmanship and skill at the highly anticipated Basketball Carnival. With an outstanding show of talent, dedication, and teamwork, players, coaches, referees, and helpers made the event a resounding success.

Though initially faced with a couple of narrow losses, Girls B showed their resilience by finishing the day with three consecutive victories. Their exceptional teamwork and team determination proved crucial in securing those wins. Their remarkable turnaround was a testament to their hard work. The student helpers did great coaching, scoring and refereeing the team.



On the other hand, Boys B fought relentlessly throughout the day, winning every one of their pool matches. The team showcased exceptional skill and sportsmanship, but in the grand final, they narrowly missed out on the top prize, falling short to an experienced Denmark side. Their remarkable performance throughout the tournament showcased their unwavering commitment to the game.



Boys A had a slow start in their opening match but quickly found their form as the day progressed. Despite their tremendous effort, they were overtaken by the tenacious St. Joe's team in the Grand Final. Nevertheless, their perseverance and improvement throughout the day were evident and promising for future competitions.



Girls A displayed relentless determination, winning all their games. This impressive streak included a dominant performance in the Grand Final, where they suffocated Denmark defensively, allowing them to score only single-digit points throughout the game. Their unwavering commitment to defence and flawless execution on the court made them the day's champions.





The ASHS Basketball Carnival was filled with thrilling competition and outstanding performances.
