The Albany SHS Gold team recently showcased their determination and creativity at the Regional Lego League competition in Mt Barker, earning the prestigious Peer Award for their resilience and positive attitude despite facing numerous setbacks.

Technical complications prevented the team from demonstrating their robot-building and coding skills, but they remained undeterred, attending the competition with confidence and pride. Their innovation project—a QR code system providing multi-language rule guides at popular fishing sites in Albany—impressed the judges with its practicality and potential to enhance safety.

During the event, the team embraced the opportunity to learn from others, engaging with peers in the common practice area and observing the work of other teams. This collaborative spirit added to their enriching experience and highlighted the values of respect, responsibility, and resilience that Albany SHS students embody.
