On Friday, staff members Mr Clark, Mr Ayers, Ms Wilson, and Mr Longworth proudly wore their bright ‘This Is A Conversation Starter’ shirts to show their support for mental health counselling in the trades industry.

The shirts are part of a national initiative designed to encourage conversations around mental health — especially in industries where talking about mental health isn’t always easy. At Albany SHS, we’re passionate about building a supportive community where students, staff, and families feel safe to check in with one another.

Funky Shirt Fridays are a fun, visible reminder that sometimes all it takes is starting a conversation to help someone who might be struggling. Whether it’s a chat in class, in the workshop, or in the yard, those small moments can have a big impact.

We’re proud to be part of this initiative and look forward to seeing more staff joining in over the coming weeks.
