The annual Interschool Swimming Carnival was a fun-filled event, with great rivalry between the Division A schools Albany SHS, Great Southern Grammar and St Joseph’s College.

The ASHS team was light on numbers, with only 36 participants. Those 36 students performed gallantly, kicking their way to many victories and doing what they could to earn as many points as possible.

The students that attended showed other schools in our area just what it means to support your school mates and to be proud of your school.

High performers on the day were:

• Champions - Ashton, Creed, Kate, Nicolette and Zachary
• Runner-up Champions - Orlando, Chloe, Gabi and Sophia

Special Mentions to:

• Our winning relay teams - Year 9 Boys Medley, Year 9 Girls Freestyle, Year 10 Girls Medley and Freestyle
• Record Breaker - Ashton, 50m Backstroke in 29.01s (Old Record, SJC - 29.70s)

Well done to all that competed. All athletes should be proud of their achievements, their display of school camaraderie and outstanding representation of Albany SHS.
