Albany Senior High School’s Year 9 students took part in two exciting hands-on career taster excursions at TAFE, gaining valuable insights into both the trades and hospitality industries.
During the "Tradie for a Day" experience, students explored civil construction, wall and ceiling plastering, and engineering. They rolled up their sleeves and tackled real-world tasks, learning about training opportunities and career pathways in these essential industries.
Meanwhile, another group of students delved into the world of hospitality, where they cooked up a storm in the kitchen, mastered front-of-house service, and perfected their barista techniques. Hospitality is often a stepping stone into the workforce, and the transferable skills gained on this excursion will support students in a wide range of future careers.
These experiences provide career insights, helping students make informed decisions about their future while sparking new interests and passions. A huge thank you to TAFE for providing these incredible opportunities for our students!
