This Australia Wide Awards program was created to acknowledge the achievements of young people who have demonstrated outstanding qualities of leadership and teamwork within their school and the broader local community. At the same time, they recognise those who display strong values, such as doing one's best, respect for others and “mateship”, characteristics that are integral to Australian Society.

The Long Tan Citizenship Award is proudly donated by the Australian Defence Force and presented by Jenny Firth.
