If you go down to Tech 2 today, you’re sure of a big surprise…
The Australian Government provided $30.2 million in 2019–20 for the Local Schools Community Fund (the Fund). The Fund was to benefit students and assist schools to meet their priorities through the contribution of funding for small scale projects. ASHS application was successful and we received $20,000 which was used for creating our new Technology classroom.
Our new Technology classroom space, Tech 2 , is the result of combining the seminar room with the old photography room. As will be clear from the pictures, it is now a spectacular, spacious computer suite with over thirty networked computer stations and a central bank of wheeled tables which can be set into new configurations, as required.
This semester, the Technology Department are currently utilising Tech 2 primarily for Digital Technology and Photography lessons. The school has also hosted a seminar with visiting speakers and refreshments and we have plans to show case student work here. The room is not quite finished yet as there is still display boards and curtaining to add.
We are looking forward to a grand opening later in the year. In short, Tech 2 has been a wonderful boost at the start of the year and a great improvement to the learning environment for our students.
