Recently, our Year 11 students had the valuable opportunity to attend the RAC Project Road Smart event at the Albany Entertainment Centre (AEC).
The program began with an insightful short film depicting a realistic re-enactment of a road crash, followed by powerful stories from presenters who had lived through similar experiences. These sessions highlighted the importance of road safety and the real-life consequences of risky driving behaviours.
Students then explored interactive displays behind the AEC building, engaging with emergency response teams including WA Police, DFES, and St John Ambulance. They were able to see emergency vehicles up close and learn about the critical roles these services play during road incidents.
This hands-on experience provided our students with a deeper understanding of road safety and emergency response.
A big thank you to AEC and RAC for hosting such an impactful event, and to St John Ambulance, DFES, and WA Police for their support in making this learning experience possible.
