Since 1918, Albany Senior High School has been part of this community's story. Our campus sits at the foot of Koorntarup, known to many as Mount Clarence. This place holds deep significance to the Menang Noongar people, the traditional custodians of this Country. We acknowledge their enduring connection to land, sea, and culture and recognise that the story of this place stretches back far beyond our school's founding.
Over more than a century, generations of young people have walked through our gates. We continue that proud legacy by continually evolving to meet the needs of the young people who attend our school every day. This page tells the story of who we are, where we came from, and what we stand for.

Our History School Crest The school badge was redesigned in 1946 by former prefect and then Manual Arts teacher, Roy Chopping. The design has the original 1925 shape for the green portion, the school colours and emblem — the Boronia flower. Red, although a school colour, was not shown as this was represented in three Boronia flowers on a gold bar at the top. A wavy line represents the waves of the south coast. School Motto The school motto, Keep Troth, means "true, upon my word" — or in its Latin translation, "Honour expectations of your best." It was selected by Francis Reedy, the first Principal of Albany SHS, also known as "Pop Reedy," and has guided our school community ever since. |

Our Values At Albany Senior High School, our core values of Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience are more than words — they define how we treat one another and how we approach learning. They are the guiding principles in every facet of school life. Positive Behaviour Support In 2024, we introduced Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) — a widely embraced program across Australia focused on teaching and reinforcing expected positive behaviours. PBS empowers students to make informed, positive choices and actively contribute to a supportive and inclusive school culture. Through PBIS Rewards — an intuitive online platform — both teachers and students can easily stay informed and engaged, with positive behaviours acknowledged and celebrated across the school community. From small acts of kindness to significant displays of responsibility, every effort is recognised. By working collaboratively to promote Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience, we cultivate a learning environment where every student can flourish and thrive. |
