Earlier this term, the combined ensembles of our IMSS program performed in two incredible showcase concerts, celebrating the hard work and talent of our music students throughout the year.
Night One featured the concert bands, with ensembles from Mount Barker, Denmark, Albany SHS, and North Albany SHS performing alongside the Year 6 district beginner band. The evening concluded with a powerful performance from the combined district band, comprising 85 players, which also represented our region at the State Bands Festival earlier this year. It was an excellent opportunity for everyone to hear each other play and marked the final performances from our graduating Year 12 students, including Sarah, William, Abi, and Zayden. Led by Neville Talbot, Catherine Warnock, Nola Formentin, and Jo Webster, the night showcased the incredible progress of students across their IMSS journey. The combined choirs of ASHS and NASHS also delivered an energetic and thrilling performance under the direction of Nola Formentin.
Night Two highlighted our classical guitar ensembles and the two school orchestras, demonstrating the development and achievements of our students under the guidance of Ross Dwyer, Stephen Roberts, and Neville Talbot. This evening also celebrated the graduation of Ezra, our Year 12 violin student.
Hundreds of parents and friends attended these concerts, the first held in the new APAC, and all agreed it was a fantastic opportunity for students to share the results of their dedication and passion for music.
