Albany Senior High School proudly sent four Year 7/8 basketball teams to compete in an exciting interschool basketball carnival. The day was filled with energy, determination, and outstanding sportsmanship from all our players.
Boys A Team fought hard throughout the day and earned a spot in the grand final. Despite their relentless effort and teamwork, they narrowly missed out on victory. Their performance showcased resilience and a never-give-up attitude.
Boys B Team also impressed, making it all the way to their grand final. Although they didn’t take home the win, their commitment to supporting each other and maintaining positive behaviour was evident in every game.
Girls A Team were the stars of the day, going undefeated and claiming the grand final title! Their success was built on exceptional teamwork, relentless pressure on the court, and a fantastic attitude that inspired everyone watching.
Girls B Team may not have reached the grand final, but they played incredibly well all day. Their determination and ability to work together made them a standout team, and they represented our school with pride.
The Upper School Helpers for the day were exceptional in sharing the duties of score, coaching and refereeing. There were multiple occasions where they also stepped up to referee or score for other teams too. We are very proud of your efforts.
Across all teams, the qualities that define Albany Senior High School athletes were on full display: teamwork, great attitudes, positive behaviour, mutual support, respect for referees, and pride in representing our school. These values matter just as much as the scoreboard, and our students embodied them brilliantly.
Congratulations to all players and for an outstanding day of basketball!
