Albany SHS students had the opportunity to attend the City of Albany Youth Forum. In this free, interactive event, young people helped shape the next three-year Youth Friendly Albany Plan.
The day included group activities, scholarship design workshops, a youth panel discussion, and the chance for students to share their ideas directly with Council Members. It was a powerful reminder that young people’s voices matter and can influence real decisions that affect our community.
We were proud to have two Albany Senior High School student leaders present their ideas, speaking confidently about what young people in Albany need and value. In addition, Follow the Dream students contributed their perspectives, ensuring Aboriginal student voices were represented in conversations about the future of our town.
A special mention to Verna, who was invited to deliver the Acknowledgement of Country. She did an outstanding job representing our school and community with respect and pride.
