Welcome to Albany Senior High School
Each day, as I look across our iconic Koorntarup (Mount Clarence) campus, I am reminded that we are part of something much bigger than ourselves. Since 1918, generations of young people have walked through our 'gates', and today we continue that proud legacy...not by standing still, but by continually evolving to meet the needs of the students in front of us.
I acknowledge that we learn and grow each day on Menang Noongar boodja. We honour the Menang Peoples as the traditional custodians of this land and recognise their enduring connection to Country, community and culture. This understanding strengthens our responsibility to educate with respect, integrity and care.
At the heart of Albany Senior High School is a clear vision: to empower every student to make a positive difference to their global community.
Our students are the reason we exist. Their potential, their voice and their aspirations shape our work. We are committed to knowing every learner, their strengths, their challenges and their goals, and to providing pathways that allow each young person to thrive.
Our values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience are more than words; they define how we treat one another and how we approach learning. We expect our students to aim high, to contribute positively and to take pride in their growth. In return, we ensure they are supported by a highly skilled and dedicated staff who are committed to working at their professional best.
Contemporary education at Albany Senior High School is rigorous, innovative and responsive. We combine strong foundations in literacy and numeracy with rich opportunities in academic, vocational, cultural, sporting, social environmental and leadership pathways. Our programs reflect both our history and our context. The diverse partnerships we have with our local businesses and industry connects learning to future aspirations. From our renowned Marine Science, Maritime and Engineers programs to strong ATAR and vocational outcomes ensuring students are prepared for further education, employment and life beyond school.
We are proud of what our students achieve. Each year, our graduates attain outstanding academic results across ATAR and vocational pathways, earning scholarships, certificates of distinction and strong post-school destinations. Our sporting teams consistently demonstrate skill, teamwork and pride, particularly through our long-standing success at Country Week, where the spirit of “Team ASHS” is on full display. Our cultural programs connect students to the broader artistic community. From our strong partnership with the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAPPA) and instrumental music pathways such as IMMS, to music excellence showcased through Radioactive and community theatre. These achievements are not simply trophies or accolades; they are reflections of young people striving, growing and contributing.
We are proud of our traditions. Our crest bearing the words Keep Troth, our distinctive blazer, our long-standing connection to the Albany community, but our greatest pride lies in who our students are becoming. Confident. Curious. Determined. Ready to contribute.
Albany Senior High School is grounded in history, driven by purpose and focused firmly on the future.
