On Thursday 27 May 2021 ASHS took both a boys and girls team to compete in the annual lower school AFL carnival. The weather was perfect and both teams represented our school with pride, showing great sportsmanship and exemplary attitudes.
The boys team were up against some strong competition, coming third in their division, after being defeated twice.
The girls performed well all day, going undefeated. They had some great games against Mt Barker, NASHS, Denmark and Grammar, but were able to take home the trophy. Many of the girls do not play football regularly but showed great skill and determination.
Well done to all competitors, and an extra big thanks to the Certificate II Sport Coaching students for helping, and some great Year 9 umpires in George Bockman, Rory Luscombe and Marshall O’Meara.
