Great Southern School Leaders Unite to Shape Regional Education Strategy
On Friday, school leaders from across the Great Southern region came together at UWA Albany for a collaborative planning day focused on the future of education in our region.
Principals and Deputy Principals from a wide range of local schools gathered to hear directly from the newly appointed Director General of Education, Jay Peckitt. His address offered valuable insight into the Department of Education’s priorities and long-term vision for students and schools across Western Australia.
The event also featured the presentation of the first draft of the Regional Education Plan by Regional Director Dainon Couzic. This plan sets out the key goals and strategies to support students, staff, and school communities throughout the Great Southern. School leaders worked together to review, reflect, and provide feedback on the plan, ensuring it reflects the needs and aspirations of local communities.
The day was an important opportunity for educational leaders to collaborate, strengthen networks, and align their efforts to deliver the best outcomes for students in the region.
We extend our thanks to Tim Martin, Director at UWA Albany, for hosting the event and supporting this valuable initiative.
