About the Program Our GATE students benefit from a well-rounded curriculum designed to nurture analytical, critical, and creative thinking. The program fosters motivation, encourages communication, and develops the habits of mind that high-achieving students need to thrive. GATE students are an integral part of the Albany SHS community. They complete Maths, English, Science, and Humanities in a dedicated form group, where teachers deliver a specially designed curriculum to meet the needs of the cohort. In subjects such as HPE, Design and Technology, the Arts, and Languages, GATE students learn alongside their peers from across the school, with teachers offering extension opportunities to engage and challenge them further. |
|
Community and Opportunity GATE students enjoy a culture of teamwork and support within their cohort and across the broader school community. They have access to the rich and varied extra-curricular opportunities available at Albany SHS — from sporting teams and cultural programs to leadership pathways and community events. Our supportive and inclusive environment encourages pride, respect, responsibility, and achievement. GATE students and their peers benefit from learning alongside one another in a school that values both academic excellence and personal growth. |
