Albany Senior High School staff came together for a full day of professional learning focused on strengthening cultural safety and responsiveness across our school community.

We had the privilege of hearing from local Elders and guest speakers Vernice Gillies, Larry Blight, Sarah Williams, and Casey Mulder, whose wisdom, stories, and cultural knowledge deeply enriched the day. Staff also took part in a guided tour of Koorntarup (Mt Clarence), where they learned more about the significance of the boodja (land) we teach and learn on.

It was a powerful day of reflection, learning, and connection—one that will continue to influence the way we work with our students, families, and wider community. Thank you to all who shared their knowledge and helped make the day so meaningful.
