The Year 9 GAT class at Albany Senior High School recently took part in an exciting and impactful event — the Rural Reachout ‘Hackathon’. This problem-solving initiative focused on identifying and addressing the unique challenges faced by students in regional and remote areas, particularly around access to educational and recreational opportunities.
Working collaboratively in teams and small groups, our students demonstrated creativity, empathy, and innovation as they explored real-world issues and developed tangible, realistic solutions. Their ideas were not only thoughtful but also actionable — and will soon be presented to members of parliament, with the potential to influence future policy and bring about meaningful change.
A huge congratulations to our Year 9 GAT team for their outstanding efforts and commitment to making a difference. Well done, Team ASHS!
