As part of our ongoing Kooinda program, students recently took part in a fun and challenging team-building exercise known as the "Helium Stick" challenge. The goal? To lower a lightweight stick from chest height to the ground using only index fingers — a task that requires coordination, communication, and patience.
Two separate groups of 6 to 7 students attempted the challenge. Despite their best efforts, both groups found it impossible to complete! The first group included Jimmy, Creed, Rehema, ...and others.
But then came a surprise twist!
A smaller group of just three students — Cooper, Bella, and Lyndsey — managed to complete the task. Their teamwork and focus were outstanding and demonstrated how sometimes, less is more when it comes to collaboration.
This activity sparked great conversations about group dynamics, leadership, and problem-solving — all key elements of the Kooinda experience.
