Marine & Martime Surf Trip

ASHS Marine and Maritime students had an exciting two-day surfing adventure in Perth during August 2023.

Day one started with an incredible dawn surf at Leighton Beach. Leighton Beach is known for its beautiful shoreline and good surf conditions. After the students enjoyed their morning surf, we headed to AQUA to learn about and look at the marine life.

Before ending day one at Cicerellos Restaurant for a delicious meal, we headed to the WA Maritime Museum to explore maritime history and heritage.

Day two started with Surfing WA putting on an Epic show at Trigg Beach. The swell was down, but our students/competitors put in a fantastic effort. Our students were also lucky to enjoy the surf after the competition with other students from all over the state, building relationships and making friends. It was a memorable trip. We built connections and fostered a sense of community in water sports and maritime activities. It was a perfect blend of education, outdoor activities, cultural exploration and building connections with fellow surfers and maritime enthusiasts.

ASHS Marine and Maritime students look forward to doing it again in 2024. Overall, it was a great two-day adventure. Thank you to all our students and everyone involved in organising this wonderful event and trip.
