The Year 9 and 10 Marine and Maritime students didn’t let the weather dampen their spirits as they headed out on full-day excursions to Cheynes Beach. Both groups made the most of the incredible conditions, enjoying extended surfing sessions with the unforgettable sight of humpback whales breaching in the bay behind them as they rode the waves.

The experience was more than just surfing. Students fired up the barbecue for a big cook-up, tried their hand at fishing, and took time to clean up the beach, demonstrating both teamwork and care for the environment. It was a memorable day on the coast, combining adventure, learning, and appreciation for the ocean.
