Student Leaders Day
The 2021/2022 student leaders participated in a Student Leader Induction day on Wednesday 04 August. The Year 7 -10 leaders participated in getting to know you, group and team-building activities along with identifying their traits as a leader.
Our guests, Mike Eastman, Great Southern University Centre and Aaron Atwell, XESIV Digital provided inspirational presentations on their leadership journeys to the students. It is great to have such wonderful community members who are willing to give up their time to support ASHS students.
The Year Coordinators worked with their groups planning events for the coming 12 months along with the development of committees to oversee various priority areas within the school. The new committees will see student involvement in Sustainability, Fundraising, Culture and Clubs, Mental Health and Wellbeing and Positives and pluses.
Thanks also goes to Jennifer Wingard, our School Chaplain for presenting on the day to explain her role in the school and information on RUOK Day which will be recognised in September.
Year 12 Dinner
The Year 12 Dinner was held on Wednesday 04 August at The White Star. This was well attended with the students enjoying a night out with their classmates.
A variety of fun awards were presented by the prefects to students and Mr Ellis – who won the most disorganised award, despite organising all the Year 12 events this year.
Thank you to staff who came along to enjoy the evening and to provide supervision.
Mal Ellis
Year 12 Coordinator.
