Please take the time to read through the attached important Parent Information with regards to 2022. Further information which is referred to within this document can be found below.
Stationery and Text Book Requirements
Our School Board encourages parents to buy local for the purchase of student requirements for 2022. Textbooks can be sourced from local suppliers such as Paperbark Merchants, however, to allow for delivery ready for the start of school in 2022, orders may be required immediately.
Alternatively, Albany Senior High School has sourced an online option for the purchase of these requirements.
Ziggies Educational Supplies is a WA owned and operated company. We have negotiated a further reduction in the retail price of textbooks for 2022.
Parents can place orders as soon as they wish through www.ziggies.net.au
Please read your Ziggies booklist front cover very carefully and choose the correct code for pick up/delivery of your booklist order. Orders will need to be placed separately per child.
Charges and Contributions have been forwarded to all families at the start of December with details of 2022 elective subjects.
Possible Extra Cost Options
Albany Senior High School provides a range of extra activities, which may include camps, excursions and social activities.
Please follow the link for detailed information for the 2022 Possible Extra Cost Options for all year levels.
If your student wishes to participate, payment is required prior to the event taking place. Further information will be provided by staff throughout the year.
Inclusion of an event on the schedule does not necessarily mean it will take place.
Voluntary Approved Requests (VARs) and Other Optional Costs (OOCs)
Voluntary Contributions and Charges have been listed by year level across all subjects and electives. Voluntary Contributions will not exceed $235.00 per student.
Costs associated with School of Isolated and Distance Education (SIDE) are determined by the subject being delivered by SIDE.
Families will be provided with an itemised breakdown for their child/children according to subject selection.
Students are encouraged to bring their own device to school. If your child is bringing a device to school please read and discuss our Bring Your Own Device Policy with them. Further information on our school's Policies and Procedures can be found in the About heading on our website.
All students bringing a BYOD to school must complete the Usage Agreement Form (Appendix B). The Usage Agreement Form must be returned to the Front Office at the start of the 2022 school year, at which point, the device will be registered for use at school and be identified as registered with a tamper-proof sticker.
Please Note: Microsoft Office 365 is supplied free of charge for students via the Department of Education – please see the link under the Students heading on our website.
Further information regarding the BYOD program for the incoming Year 7 students in 2022 can be found here.
You may be eligible for up to $350.00 towards school expenses.
Families who have a Centrelink Family Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card or Veterans’ Affairs Pensioner Concession Card may be eligible to claim Secondary Assistance, which entitles them to $235 towards Contributions and $115 Clothing Allowance.
Individual students who hold Health Care cards are not eligible to claim Secondary Assistance unless declared as an independent student from Centrelink (a confirmation letter from Centrelink will need to be supplied).
Application forms can be completed in person at the Accounts Office from Monday 31 January 2022.
APPLICATIONS CLOSE ON FRIDAY 8 APRIL 2022.
